This evening I watched the movie Casablanca. The film was directed by Michael Curtiz and was released in 1942. While watching the movie I couldn’t help but notice the ridiculous depiction of women as helpless creatures. It’s so weird to realize how much movies depictions of women have changed in the past 67 years. Women went from being helpless too considerably more empowered in contemporary films. I wonder what Wonder Woman would have done in Casablanca?
