Video Transitions

What is a transition? A transition in video editing is a way of successfully creating harmony between two clips in a video. For instance, when trying to give the viewer a sense of change in time in a video, an editor will often use a fade in fade out dissolve.  To cross between to like clips in a project, an editor could use a cross fade transition, this would blend the two clips together and make them seem a bit more seamless. There are multiple other cuts that can be used in the video making process, such as a cut. A cut is pretty much the most basic video transition; it is when two clips in a film are cut together. The video bellow will go into a little bit more depth about film transitions.

In the beginning this video clip does a good example of showing quality transitions in video. When the clip rolls the video “The Passion of The Xander” it is successful in showing bad transitions in video. Furthermore, the clip is very successful in showing why cuts and dissolves can be your best friend when editing a video.
